Sarai's Apartment

Sarai's bedroom consists of a large white bed near the door, above the bed hangs a black and white picture of cherry blossoms. Across from the bed is her bookshelf. In the corner she has a desk and chair. Beside the desk is her painting easel and brushes, a few feet from that is a music stand. A washroom, kitchen, and small guest room come off the living room, the washroom is full of creams and ivory colors. The guest room contains a double bed, another bookshelf (full of classic novels), and a small dresser with additional shelves,
She has a small living room and has her TV set up across from the leather couch and coffee table. The kitchen is made out of bamboo, light oak, marble and appliances.

She chuckles, hearing his stomach growl. "You weren't kidding when you said you were hungry." She kisses his cheek, still laughing. "Thanks for being sweet." Sitting down next to him, she scoots her chair close to his. She looks at the oven, and smiles. "The food seems to be cooking well."

Zero smiled. "Its no problem. I aim to please." Zero said. Zero scooted his chair over a bit when he heard Sarai scooting over. "It does seem that way, doesn't it." Zero said, smiling a bit.

Sarai smiles and leans in slightly to Zero, happy to have him near. She smiles. "The pasta should be done soon, and the chicken will be done soon after." She looks at him. "We can eat and do something, what do you want to do?"

"How about...we play a game of speed?" Zero said, reaching into his pocket and taking out a deck of playing cards.

"You'll have to teach me though, but I learn fast." She grins, "Is it strategic?"

"Well, you have to have quick hands. You have to be able to play a card that's number is 1 higher or 1 lower than that card's number. Say if there as a 5 open. You'd have to play a 6 or a four to keep going. And you have to be fast." Zero said.

She listens and nods. "So I just have to be quick?" She walks over and grabs some plates and cutlery. Dang, no strategy. Usually I can figure those out quick, now I have to try. She smiles and grabs two cups. "I was hoping for a pattern, I'm good at analyzing the risks involved and percentages." Walking over to the stove, she stirs the sauce and checks the pasta. "Perfect. Now we have to wait... 5 minutes for the chicken." She grabs a serving platter and bowl. Filling the bowl with the pasta and sauce she mixes it together.

Zero smiled. "Five minutes until a great dinner made by my girlfriend. I can't wait!" Zero said. His stomach growled again.

Hearing the timer, Sarai walks over to the oven and grabs her oven mitts. Opening the oven, she pulls out the chicken. "Smells good." Placing the chicken on a plate, she carries the foot to a small table. "Let's eat." She says, grinning. She grabs a piece of chicken and some pasta, gesturing for Zero to do the same.

Zero graciously accepted his plate, sitting down with her. He took some chicken and cut it up expertly with a knife, mixing it in with the sauce and noodles. He found a piece and stabbed into it with his fork, wrapping some noodles around it.

She smiles and continues to eat. "I hope you like it." She says to Zero, between bites. Not bad, I could have used some more oregano... She elaborates in her thoughts, critiquing the food.

Zero nodded, taking the food into his mouth. He smiled widely. He chewed his food slowly, savoring the flavor. "This food is really, really good!" Zero said after he swallowed his food.

She smiles, hearing the compliment. "Thanks for the help." She says to him. She digs in to the food. "One sec." She says, walking over to the fridge. "I have water, milk, juice, and iced tea. What do you want to drink?"

"Iced tea, if you please." Zero said, taking another fork-full of his food. He loved the various flavors mixing into one glorious taste.

She grabs a jug of Iced Tea out of the fridge and walks toward the table. Placing the jug on the table she grabs and fills his glass. Filling her own glass she places his in front of him. She sips her Iced Tea and continues eating. "I'm looking forward to the cards." She says, smiling.

"Thanks, Sarai." Zero said, taking a sip of his iced tea. He ate some more of his food, eating slowly so he could enjoy the flavor. " I can't wait to play cards with you either. Maybe i'll show you some card tricks." Zero said.

"Sure." She says smiling. "And I can teach you some more stuff about cards." She chuckles. "It's not card counting, exactly. Just probability."

"Okay then." Zero said. He went up for seconds after his first plate, finishing it up quickly and washing his hands in the bathroom before he went to go play cards with Sarai.

Sarai grabs the plates from the table and washes them quickly in the sink along with the pots and pans. Throwing them in the dishwasher she smiles and clasps her hands together. Grabbing two bowls she grabs a small box of chocolate ice cream and a couple brownies from the fridge. She grabs spoons, placing them in the bowls. She sits at the table, waiting for Zero to return.

Zero came out of the bathroom, having already dried his hands on a paper towel. He saw the ice-cream and the brownies. "So, dessert, huh? Are you trying to spoil me?" Zero joked. He sat down and got a spoonful of chocolate ice-cream and chased it with a bite of brownies. "These brownies are good!" Zero said, after swallowing down the brownie.

She smiles. "I made them yesterday... and I couldn't help myself. It's a treat." She takes a bite and smiles even more. Slowly eating the dessert she watched Zero. "You are adorable when you eat, You take your time and relish the food." She giggles.

Zero chuckled. "Whats the point of eating something that someone made for you if you can't enjoy it?" Zero reasoned. He ate some more of his brownie and ate some more ice-cream, a content smile on his face.

She chuckles. "I agree with you there, but it's still cute." She watches him eat, having her dessert, herself.

Zero smiled more, eating some more brownies and ice-cream. This is great! Having dessert after an awesome dinner made by my girlfriend. Can life get any better? Zero thought.

Sarai finishes her ice cream and waits for Zero to finish. "You know I'm pretty good at cards, I think I will beat you." She laughs, taunting him.
