| First topic message reminder : --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ‡ Kitchen ‡---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------  To the north [right] of the dining room is the kitchen, which can also be reached by walking directly forward from the foyer, under the stairway, and turning to the left. It seems, at times, to be a closed in circle all on its own, with tile floors covering up the old hardwood floors. Four windows light the room from the western wall at the back, overlooking the sink and the counters adjacent. To the right of the sink, as the wall takes a turn, is the dishwasher, and further right at another turn where the wall turns flat again, is the oven and range. Sticking partially into the tiled area between the dining room, kitchen, and family room is a small bar that can seat two people, with high, comfortable wooden chairs. Against the southern wall of the kitchen [northern wall of the dining room] is the refrigerator, a large, modern piece.
The kitchen and family room adjacent, aside from the upstairs bedrooms, are some of the most modern areas of the house, those having been the most needed to be remodeled. With a light cream paint job on the walls and pure white cabinets with decorative bronze handles, the kitchen is quaint and modern, mixing in well with the house’s previous style. The cabinets on the walls often hold spices or dishes, while the drawers just below the counters hold silverware and utensils, the cabinets below them holding cookware. The counters are granite-topped, with various other spices in jars lining the walls for both decoration and ease of use
In the middle of the kitchen is a medium sized island which has more drawers and storage space underneath. The island is mostly used for food preparation, and has many of the key utensils needed for most basic dishes stored in the drawers there.
