The Foyer - Page 2 31-w-rivercrest-foyer

From the covered porch, guests and residents enter through elegant glass doors framed on either side by tall windows into the foyer. The foyer is decently sized, with marble floors that integrate cleanly to carpet on the left as it leads into the living room and continues into hardwood towards the study on the right. Sharply to the right of the door is an area for visitors to put their shoes, a closet for their coats, and an umbrella stand for canes and umbrellas.
Two staircases with elegant wrought-iron railings decorated with intricate curls of metal lead up to a hallway “balcony” that hovers over the foyer. This hallway leads, on the left, to the Master bedroom; to the right, a separate bathroom and another bedroom in the corner “turret” of the house, and to the back, two more spare bedrooms. When the staircases reach the “balcony”, as with the foyer and the living room, marble becomes a light, plush carpet.
Under the staircases, the ceiling has an inset circular lighting fixture which bathes the open floor below it in a soft golden light when it is turned on. Straight through the staircases there is a large open window showing the backyard, a utility closet set into the wall on its left and a door to the backyard and porch on its right. Walking under the staircases and turning left will lead one towards the kitchen and dining room, and turning to the right will take one towards the family room, laundry room, and garage.

With a slight pinch, she came free of the bars, only to find herself pressed against Judas' chest. Her face felt flushed, and for once, she was thankful for the darkness. Again, she whispered an apology, folding her wings close to her back. This close to him, she could feel the warmth of his breath and smell the faint scent of cologne wafting up from his person.
"Y-yes, I'm alright," she whispered at last. "Merci beaucoup f-for freeing my wings..."
Her fingers pressed lightly into his chest as she attempted to sit herself up. The attempted failed as she fumbled around in the dark, and she laughed nervously at herself. Never had she come across so awkward a situation before; not even with Valen, in the many instances in which she had tripped near him. He had always been around to catch her or pick her up after a fall. Yet, somehow, finding herself in such a way with Judas made him feel that much more...tangible, to her, as if Valen had been some diety with whom she could never have reached, but Judas was a fully attainable being like herself.

*smiles warmly, pulling both Zuri and himself to their feet*
You're very welcome.
*pecks her lightly on the lips*
Now, shall we continue our search?

"O-of course," she whispered, still a tad flustered at his kiss.
With her hand in his so that she would not lose him, or else trip over him, again, she wandered about the walls. Her feet were placed with careful precision, though her steps remained shaky, at best. After a few more seconds of feeling around, she seemed to find a switch, and smiled tentatively into the dark at Judas.
"Hopefully this is it," she said, flipping the switch.

*sighs inwardly as the switch is flipped with a resounding click, and no lights turn on*
The power must have been cut after your long absence.
*flicks the switch up and down several times to reaffirm his guess, as well as amuse himself*
So. What now~?

Laughing softly at their hopeless situation, Zuri turned back to him. She let his hand go reluctantly and held her palms out in front of her, forming a small orb in her hands. It lit up their faces warmly, though with a ghostly shadow pattern flickering across their faces. Holding it up, she turned about, and made her way into the living room, beckoning him to follow.
"I can hold the light for awhile, though it may be cumbersome, and there's a fireplace in here. We can light a fire, if there's wood, and I'm sure I can find some candles somewhere. Does that sound alright with you?" she asked, still smiling softly.
